CLE and SPECIAL EVENTS

Continuing Legal Education programs are an easy and practical way for law practitioners to earn CLE accreditation. Programs including topics on Business Law; Intellectual Property; International Law; and Human Rights; are offered at American University Washington College of Law throughout the year and can be conducted at your location, as well.

Special Events and Continuing Legal Education (SECLE) is an integral part of this school. On any given day, our students have the opportunity to supplement their learning by attending conferences, symposiums, seminars, lunches, and events featuring well-known judges, international experts and government officials and attorneys that include many of our faculty members. Highlights of this year’s SECLE include Founders’ Celebration and the 2010 Comparative Law Congress.

FOUNDERS’ CELEBRATION

Founders’ Celebration is five months long and features more than 75 events, seminars, panel discussions, expert forums, and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs covering diverse topics such as international trade, labor rights, military justice reform, domestic violence, privacy issues, climate change, and the global economy. It celebrates the progressive vision of our Founding Mothers, Emma Ellen Spencer Mussey and Emma Gillett, and brings together members of the legal community to discuss, analyze, and shape the important legal issues facing our nation and the world.
